Role details

Experienced Project/Programme Manager required with experience in Highway Engineering projects, major scheme delivery and stakeholder management.

The Project Manager will join an established team of Project and Programme Managers.  The role will include leading on innovative programme initiatives alongside delivery relating to procurement, processes and stakeholder management.  The post holder will be thorough, organised and have experience overseeing financial budgets, coordinate contractors and manage the construction process.  An essential element of the role is the organisation of schedules, tracking inventory and ordering and managing materials. 

Key Tasks

  • To successfully drive projects through the delivery process from inception to completion in the required timescales.

  • Plan, direct, co-ordinate and lead projects to ensure that goals, objectives and all elements are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budgetary parameters

  • Review funding applications to determine time frame, limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects

Experience and skills required

  • At least three years’ experience as a construction manager or in a similar position in construction management.

  • To have project or programme management experience in Highways engineering projects or major scheme delivery

  • You must have working knowledge of local building code regulations

  • Ability to use your initiative and be meticulous; oversee and supervise construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress and adjustments ensuring all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines and local policies and regulations are met

  • You can perform the tasks of a cost estimator ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget

  • BA (Hons) is desirable or acceptable equivalent in a related field and possess relevant affiliated memberships
