The management and maintenance of our clients’ extensive property portfolio is critical to meeting their success as a business. A recent review of their asset management and property delivery model identified significant opportunities for improvement and following a design phase identifying ‘to be’ processes, systems and people, a broad programme of change has been identified. This has created an exciting requirement for a Programme Manager to take responsibility for managing an ambitious property change programme, establishing new ways of working in line with a new business model.

You will be responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme with the Programme Board and Project Management Office (PMO). The role requires effective co-ordination of the programme's projects and management of their inter-dependencies, including oversight of any risks and issues arising. This includes co-ordination of new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.

Reporting to the Head of Projects, you will provide overall programme management of a range of property related projects, ensuring they are co-ordinated and sequenced, maintaining an overview of individual project progress, issues and risks.  You will ensure effective governance is in place and that a consistent methodology is adopted for all projects and provide direct and matrix management of programme/ project team as well as providing effective communication to all key stakeholders and parties. Ensuring the programme and projects have agreed budgets, producing regular financial reports and maintaining control is paramount.

You will have knowledge of programme/project management methodologies with in-depth knowledge of Prince II or MSP.  Having gained an understanding of how large complex organisations work and the challenges faced within the housing and care sectors, you will have a clear understanding of risks/ issues and their impact on programme and project success, including effective mitigation.  With the ability to understand the 'bigger picture' through thinking innovatively and conceptually.

With experience of working within a property management, development or construction environment (desirable) you will be experienced in successfully managing programme budgets in excess of GBP 1m and operating in line with financial policies and a track record in business process redesign to improve service delivery and meet the needs of customers.

Experience of using programme/ project management tools and systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and Project you will be highly flexible, able to provide strong leadership and direction and have first class interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to manage conflict and challenge, to achieve positive results.
