Macallam maintains strong relationships with Sodexo on a UK Executive basis and across EMEA, China and Asia.
Working with their UK & Ireland team, Macallam was tasked with strengthening their Business Development team for the growing Industrial segment. Through our market expertise, we knew a very strong Business Development Director with proven expertise of pipeline development primarily for new business within Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Technology and Corporate client’s coupled with the development of detailed sector plans outlining new service offers. His responsibilities were the delivery of the Global Targeting Model, management of virtual bid teams to deliver compelling tender documents and business development support to larger strategic accounts. Also the development of defined win strategies supporting clear value proposition’s and development of client solutions from concept to negotiation.
Following this successful introduction and appointment, we were then asked to source a highly complex role as Account Director on their Nestle account. This was challenging due to the fact Nestle in the UK was facing considerable market pressure. Confectionary and sugary products are under market pressure with greater emphasis on healthy eating hence rationalisation of costs and sites in the UK. Not only were we able to find a highly qualified Engineering and MBA qualified person, but also someone who had intimate prior knowledge of Nestle processes and procedures.
Following this work, we were retained to find a UK Head of Bid Management. This role was particularly challenging as it had numerous, very specific responsibilities including a strong background in catering and soft services, combined with successful people management, solution development and bid co-ordination.
Macallam conducted a full talent search, interviewing candidates across the UK. As the role was very specialist we utilised bespoke adverts to identify people globally, headhunting and exhaustive networking to secure the right candidate profiles.
76 candidates were approached, 30 interviews were conducted, and a shortlist of five candidates was presented to Sodexo.
We uphold strong relationships with all of our senior stakeholders within Sodexo, from HR Directors, Resourcing and MD’s. Given our record of success we have preferred status as a partner of choice and official supplier to Sodexo.
