Role:
Currently undergoing rapid change and growth, our client is a leading UK renewable power generation company.
We now require an Operations Director level executive to drive the performance and operational effectiveness of a complex energy producing plant near Glasgow. You will have a substantial engineering record and qualifications, coupled with Operational experience within either a heavy plant, steam raising environment, including operations and maintenance regimes of boilers and turbines or come from the power generation sector, possibly CCGT, CHP, ERF. (not wind or solar power).
Leading the SMT and over 100 site based personnel, you will lead the business outputs and have substantial senior commercial, P&L and team management expertise. You will report to Board level, manage multiple stakeholders, deliver power and commercial performance and create a culture of continuous improvement in operations, safety and compliance.
The client is looking to build a high performing management team for succession planning, of which this role can be viewed as part of that future leaders for progression.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Must possess significant operational and engineering experience of scale.
- Exceptionally strong leader of multiple teams.
- Previous experience in managing contracts, P&L, commercial negotiations
- Having managed a large / complex process plant in heavy manufacturing or power is essential.
- A proven background in driving business objectives and delivering results through people and continuous improvement
- Exceptionally strong interpersonally. Stakeholder management is key.
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
