Salary:                 £100,000 -£130,000, Benefits Package & Bonus

Location:             Extensive UK travel as required

 

Purpose of the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the division in this Business Development Director role, reporting to the MD and working for the overall FM Commercial Business. The Business Development Director will have experience within the Commercial sector, be entrepreneurial in approach and retain and win business using the platform of the existing client portfolio.

The Business Development Director will develop strategies and plans to deliver the overall goals and financial targets and lead the Business Development teams toward delivery of Business Development targets.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement the Business Development Strategy, aligned to corporate goals and objectives in order to generate the required growth and profitability

  • Conduct research and gather market and business intelligence necessary to identify and develop profitable markets suited to the overall capabilities of the company.

  • Oversee and direct control of large-scale, complex and/or strategically important new contracts and accounts as necessary.

  • Actively support and develop a strong Customer Service culture throughout all levels of staff

  • Develop and improve management systems to properly monitor, review, report and control Business Development activities in compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required skills & experience

  • Significant and impactful SMT Business Development Executive from the TFM/ Support Services sector.

  • A respected and successful track record of winning large profitable FM contracts.

  • Director for a large business/division providing FM to complex, commercial clients

  • A thorough knowledge of the UK contracting market and outsourced facilities services within the UK.

  • A proven network of contacts within major ‘blue chip’ organisations in the UK.

  • Understanding and empathy for client issues and complexity

  • Ability to conceive and drive change and develop BD strategies which have a significant impact on differentiating service delivery and building competitive advantage.

  • The ability to lead, direct and develop strong BD teams; having presence, gravitas and charisma

  • Educated to degree level and member of a relevant professional institute.

  • Willing to travel extensively as required
