Having won a key framework contract worth up to £160m over four years to support reprocessing plants, our client is recruiting for a Project Manager with extensive delivery experience in the nuclear or other highly regulated industry.
Role
The Project Manager will have a proven track record of delivering major projects (£15m+) from inception to handover. Demonstrable evidence of managing teams of designers, engineering professionals and supply chain. They will need to possess excellent client and stakeholder management skills and be competent in managing change, developing project documentation and the analysis of risk, performance and the implementation of corrective actions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivering the projects in a safe manner to the specified functional criteria, goals and objectives, compliant with appropriate legislation, Project Execution Procedures and within the approved project baseline, scope, cost, and schedule and quality requirements.

Applying an appropriate level of priority for safety and quality to ensure that Nuclear and Conventional Safety is not compromised by delivery.

Implementing and maintaining a competent, effective and efficient delivery teams assessing, authorising and maintaining the competence (SQEP) of the project team (including sub-contractors).

Minimising the project risks (threats) and maximising opportunities.

Maximising the project efficiency, effectiveness and staff utilisation.

Early identification of issues, concerns that either have the potential or will impact the project baseline.

Developing, agreeing, implementing and reporting of all project progress from the baseline programme to costs including corrective actions to manage the project baselines.
Requirements:

Strong Commercial awareness and the ability to develop and manage budgets.

Evidence based confirmation of Continued Professional Development particularly in the areas of Health and Safety and Project management.

Good analytical skills and ability to make rational decisions when under pressure.

Computer literate including MS Office.

Ability to set and manage local project, quality and financial objectives.

Ability to manage change.

Ability to motivate staff including supporting development, coaching and mentoring.

Proactive – anticipates problems and shows initiative for problem-solving and generating new ideas.

Degree educated, ideally in Civil engineering or related subject.

Chartered or equivalent professional qualification.

Ideally a successful candidate shall have experience of project managing multi discipline projects (Mechanical, Civil & structural and Electrical including EC & I) on a Nuclear Licensed Site or within a highly regulated industry with strong safety culture.

At least five years’ experience in a senior Project management role.

A track record of delivering a portfolio of projects.
Desirable
-
Hold or be eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance.

IOSH managing safety would be an advantage.

Should preferably possess a full driving licence
